Heater plus dehumidifier load

Can a heater and dehumidifier share one socket?

Check whether a heater, dehumidifier and air mover are too much for one socket or lead.

Safety boundary: this guide is for early planning only. It does not inspect hidden wiring, sign off an installation or replace a competent electrician.

Add the loads, not the labels

A 2 kW heater and a 650 W dehumidifier together are roughly 11.5 A at 230 V before fans or other equipment. That is already above an 80% warning point for a 13 A plug.

Run time changes the risk

Drying setups often run unattended for long periods. A setup that seems fine for a quick test can become unsuitable as a sustained load.

Split or reduce the setup

Move equipment to confirmed separate circuits, reduce wattage, use a different supply route, or ask an electrician or hire supplier before running the job.

Equipment next step: if the load plan is realistic, compare drying equipment options and keep the calculation trail with your site notes.
