Circuit mapping
How to check if sockets are on the same circuit
A simple breaker/lamp mapping process before spreading heaters, drying kit or portable AC across sockets.
Safety boundary: this guide is for early planning only. It does not inspect hidden wiring, sign off an installation or replace a competent electrician.
Sockets do not prove separation
Two sockets in different rooms can still be on the same circuit. Do not rely on wall position as proof.
Use a simple mapping routine
Plug in a small lamp or tester, switch off one breaker, then record exactly which sockets go dead. Unknown sockets should stay out of any split-load plan.
Feed confirmed groups into the split planner
Once sockets are grouped by confirmed breaker, use the circuit split planner to place heaters, drying kit, fans or AC without pretending unknown sockets are separate supplies.
Equipment next step: if the load plan is realistic, compare temporary heater options after confirming supplies and keep the calculation trail with your site notes.
