Office portable AC load

Office portable AC plug load

Check portable AC, fan and IT loads before cooling a hot office, meeting room or comms cupboard.

Safety boundary: this guide is for early planning only. It does not inspect hidden wiring, sign off an installation or replace a competent electrician.

Cooling is added to existing load

The office may already have PCs, monitors, chargers and network equipment running. Add the portable AC input rating on top.

Server rooms are less forgiving

A hot comms cupboard or server room can be urgent, but it is also where nuisance trips may cause wider disruption. Check the supply and keep the route tidy.

Check the electrical load first

If cooling is urgent today, still start with the portable AC input rating, fans and existing IT load. The load check shows whether the electrical setup is realistic.

Equipment next step: if the load plan is realistic, compare portable air conditioners and keep the calculation trail with your site notes.
